I am having a little problem with any OO prog. For example if I execute impress it says "Aborted" and just bring me back to the prompt. All OO apps work fine in gnome and KDE, just not fluxbox. My distro is man9.

Any and All help is appreciated.

Does anyone have fluxbox working with Openoffice in Mandrake 9. I have tried everything from red-carpet to rpmfind's rpms and the source. Installed and complied a million times. It seems to run fine in KDE or Gnome just not fluxbox. Now it just says "openoffice installation failed" but only in fluxbox . Any input is appreciated.

For some reason, OOo won't install under FB 0.1.13. There may be a patch for this on CVS (I think someone mentioned it in the FB newsletter), or re-install 0.1.12 just for this install (which may be just as easy).

0.1.13 also likes to nuke OOo as soon as you try to run it for some reason, however, you can get around this via a configure parameter, which I don't happen to have in front of me right now. It is something to the effect of --ignore-wmsettings, although that isn't it.

I'll check it when I get home from work, and reply with it then.

PS - in the meantime, if you use Fluxbox regularly, I'd suggest signing up for their mailing list. It offers bugfixes, patches and workarounds for solutions as they come up.

Thanks Brian..

No one else seems to have a response to this problem.. Although this should be a wide spread problem. I am glad, this atleast tells me where to start.

Regards.

As direct from the FB newsletter:

Have at 'em!

The --disable-newwmspec does work - I tried it at the weekend :) I think they may have released a patch now too, but I'm not sure.
