Has anyone found a .pdf or .txt of the Slackware book? I was wanting a local copy of it.

If it's available via a computer store or an online bookstore, or directly from slackware.com why not put forth a few dollars and help support their distribution.

I can't see it hitting anyones pockets that badly.

or am I to assume you already have a hard copy of it, and that you just want a copy on your system for quick reference?

Don't assume anything. I am a cheapskate. And don't guess about my financial situation.

I truly, fully appreciate the fact that people put a huge amount of time and effort on the various distros. On the other hand I chose to start using Linux for the simple reason that it is free.

I feel no loyalty to any one distro. If they offer downloadable documentation as RedHat and Mandrake do, then great. If they don't then great. But until I start having some cash at the end of each month I am not going to support any of them financially.

I will send bug reports, offer any programs that I write, and any help they need that I can offer my time for.
