I have a lot of problem with my debian, first my machine doesnt have a name, my prompt is like (NONE):~#, how do i change this.
Then i dont have any resolve.conf, do i need it?.
My modem is working, i get it dialing but the conection to my isp is droped in the autentication, but im using stormdialer so i dont know where is the log for the errors.

If some stormLinux can email me(apulgarin@insanet.net) its ppp folder(compressed of course),and its resolve.config, because im using dynamic DNS and i dont know if this change something in this files.

If someone can helpme please.

TIA

as for the machine name, edit your /etc/hostname file and put the name you want your machine to have

as for the prompt, look for a NHF on configuring the Bash shell... it explains how to edit your /etc/profile file to change the look of your prompt...

hope that helps

Yes you do need /etc/resolv.conf as it contains your isp's domain and dns servers.
