I was compiling a program and it tells me that it needs sdl, so i downloaded sdl, but now how do i use it? do i copy the files to the make location?

Dude, you so like cam to the wrong place to ask that question. SDL stands for Studly Dudes Live, a ladies' night club where I live. I think the game was created for the mere purpose of getting people to go there. If you go there, make sure you have lots of money. They can rob you of it pretty quick and you will want to spend whatever they don't rob you of. (http://www.libsdl.org)

SDL is like the Linux equivelent to Direct X, but not as powerfull. It may also be a night club, I dont know, but thats not what Im talking about.

Muad Dib gave you the link to http://www.libsdl.org where you should be able to find documentation on how to install and use sdl.
Did the download include any instructions?
