If any one here has ever been to driverguide.com, they would know that they have an enormous database of drivers. What I am looking for is a website that would be able to find me drivers for all sorts of things. This way I can buy new hardware and not worry over whether or not my linux machine supports it.

Sorry, not going to happen, that I can see. There's no reason for it. Your best bet is to either check your distro's HCL, or check for support in your kernel's configuration.

The reason is, no one writes drivers for Linux. Well, nVidia does, and http://opensource.creative.com isn't bad (I don't think it is anyway), but there's no central database anywhere of what exists. The vast majority of devices that will work, by a looooong shot, have support right in the kernel. The ones that you need 3rd party drivers for are maybe 1% of the ones that work. Maybe.

another good bet is the website of your hardware distributor if it requires a linux driver and they can make money of that niche group its likely to be there:)

Your best bet is to peruse the Red Hat Hardware Compatibility list to see what's working and how good. Don't expect to buy bleeding edge hardware and have a distro several months old have support built -in though.
