Problem was:
First a little background; I installed RH 8.0 via harddrive using the boot.img with no problem and the automatic update function worked. I sat up the RHN account online like I was suppose to and everything was fine.
I then goofed my first attempt at mounting devices (HD's) and rendered the fstab unusable. Since I was unable to boot my PC due to the corrupt fstab file, I started from scratch (clearing partitions) and reinstalled RH 8.0.
Now when I try to run the RHN auto update I get the following error:
Error Message:
Please run rhn_register as root on this client
Error Class Code: 9
Error Class Info: Invalid Server Certificate.
Explanation:
An error has occurred while processing your request. If this problem
persists please submit a bug report to rhn-help@redhat.com.
If you choose to submit the bug report, please be sure to include
details of what you were trying to do when this error occurred and
details on how to reproduce this problem.
I am logged in as root and like I said I'm already registered with RHN. Can someone tell me how to correct this so that auto update will run correctly?
Solution:
Deleted my RHN system profile
Deleted my systemid file in /etc/sysconfig/rhn
