Hello, I'm using Mandrake 7.2 with Gnome (Sawfish is my window manager).

The mouse control is terrible, how can I increase the mouse speed? (NOT ACCELERATION AND NOT THRESHOLD)

I've tried xset m 4 2 and various other combinations. No luck. I've tried messing around with the mouse controls in the Gnome configuration utility, all it lets you change though is the ACCELERATION and THRESHOLD, not the SPEED of the mouse....

So how does one increase the speed of the mouse then?

Thanks for any help.

PS, I've also tried OPTION SAMPLERATE 100 and OPTION THRESHOLD 300 in the XF86Config file, (various values) with no luck. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/frown.gif

I've also tried using KDE with no luck, the mouse control just does'nt feel right

oh yea, i'm using a standard 3 button PS2 mouse.

You could try this.

Option "Resolution" "N"

Where N is a numerical value.

Not sure what it does since my mouse is fine and I have no reason to mess with it.

Apparently it doesn't work with all mice...

Use XF86Setup to lower the resolution or the sample rate.
