A guess...Redhat 8.0 right?
www.xmms.org has the latest version for you. Delete the one that came with the distro (uninstall xmms rpm), download the one right at the top of the page, and you have xmms that contains MP3 support.
I have tried quite a few mp3 players, and xmms is the best I have tried (I especially like that you can put it into the real time class. Since I did that, I have never heard a skip no matter what I do, even compiling)
MusicMatch almost converted be though, since you have integrated MP3 create and CD burn built in, but XMMS has better sound and visualization plugins. Plus, I have about 9 burner programs and about 6 MP3 create programs (hey they are free, try them all) so the integrated features weren't that important to me.

P.S. If not Redhat 8.0, what is the problem with xmms? Aesthetics, Function, or actual not working problem.

If you are using the new version of Red Hat then xmms does not play MP3's by default due to some licencing concerns. It is possible to get xmms to work with mp3's. Search google or the forums here, it has been explained a few times.

Don'tcha hate that. I must have beaten your post by about 7 seconds. Even the timestamps are identical. :D
