Do i need to do maintenance check on a Beowulf cluster?

Hi all
i was wondering, do i need to do a maintenance check on a beowulf cluster? like in windows, we do a defragmentation once in a while, what about linux? if so , how do we do that for all the nodes?

You dont need to defrag the ext2 filesystem. Actually from what I have read I think that it will do more harm than good, even though there is software somewhere that allows you to do it. You will get some fragmentation but its minimal unlike windows. :D

u see, my system kinda getting odd like after a while, the netscape windows start closing and my computer just hung. so i was wondering if it needed attention on this. any idea why this happens??
