Okay, I figured out I need to learn Linux. However, I also need Win98 and Win2000. I installed Win98, then I installed Win2000. Now, in "DOS" terms, I have C http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/frown.gifFAT32/Win98), D http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/frown.gifFAT32/Win2000), and E http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/frown.gifNothing, yet). Now I understand how to get Linux installed and to be able to multiboot into all three. I was planning Mandrake 7.2 because it automatically sees all my drives are on a Promise Ultra66 card. Installing Linux From Scratch says to install a distro of Linux, and so I will. Is there any other distros that I can do a minimal install that automatically see my drives on the Promise card? Does Storm Linux work? Is Mandrake a good choice?

Mandrake may be the way you want to go to get support for your '66 drives. To do LFS, you really only need enough of a distro installed to boot and to compile. I'd also want X and some way of reading the docs (Mozilla, Netscape, etc.). To do LFS you will need a blank ext2 partition to put the new system as it is built, so I'd delete what is e: and then add in 3 partitions - one / for your distro, one / for LFS, and a swap.

That's a very good idea. I was planning on using the third drive for Linux, but didn't realize it was as simple as three partitions. Thanks for the recommendation.
