Have you tried the online documentation for setting up printers that Redhat has on their site?
Or is is that you cannot find a driver for the deskjet 3420?

Hi Henessy,
I have the same problem you do. I started the thread named "problems with USB port" because I thought it was a problem with the port. Now somebody told me that I have to use the CUPS printer server and I don't know how to set it up. You can check the messages there and see if they are of any help.
