Video Card Probs (linux newbie Q)

um, well i just installed linux-mandrake 7.2 and when i log on the graphics are all messed up, it is impossible to see anything in any windows, its almost transparent except i can see the title bar at the top. i think it has to do with the refresh rate. in linux with the messed gfx its 85mhz but in windows its 75.
how do i fix this considering the fact that i practically cant use the gui in linux.

my vid card is a 3dfx voodoo banshee

and it does NOT support 85mhz refresh rate

Hrmmm...do you have the latest drivers for the voodoo?

When Mandrake is starting up you could go to the interactive setup by press the "I" key when the modules start loading. From there you get most of the little stuff you need. Or you could XF86Setup at the promt(If it's base off RedHat) and xconfigure you stuff again, but with a lower refreah rate.
