i'm new to linux, just got winlinux, and was wondering if there was any way to reinstall package manager or kpackage or if there's another program i could use. the reason i ask is because with every program i've tried to install on here the program closes.

i open package manager
open a .rpm file
it opens kpackage and at top, Install: 1 RPM Package
i click on the file under packages
it opens The KDE Crash Handler

this is a problem for me because without being able to unpackage anything, nothing works, heh, and yeah, if you can help it would be appreciated.
thanks

Whats Winlinux?

Anyway, to properly install rpms, open a shell (Konsole in KDE), and become root by typing 'su' and then the root password. Now, type 'rpm -ivh filename' and it should install, unless you have unsatisfied dependencies, in which it will spit out an error.

Be sure to type those without the quotes.
