Thanks in advance! rhaynes 11-16-2002, 01:33 PM Hello, I'm not sure of exactly what you are asking for (as I am a newbie also), but I can tell you that my font directory is located at: /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF If you are trying to install more fonts, you can do what I did.... copy all of your old windows ttf's from the c:\windows\fonts directory (*.ttf's) into your /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/TTF directory, then re-boot. This is all I had to do to add the new ttf's. If you want to see the fonts in GIMP, you will need type1 fonts (at least this has been my experience). http://www.fokus.gmd.de/linux/HOWTO/Font-HOWTO-10.html I used type1inst to install the fonts. I found a shareware program at www.download.com by searching for font converters.... I converted all of my .ttf's into type1 and I will be trying them out this weekend. I hope that this is what you were asking... please remember that I'm just trying to help... (and if you have any advice for me, or a better way to do this, please let me know!! Thanks! Good Luck! kien 11-17-2002, 02:46 AM Thanks a lot for your replying. I found that the fonts in gedit is less than the fonts in Mozilla. I wanted gedit to "see" more fonts. justlinux.com
