If you haven't upgraded to Opera 6.1 yet, then do it now - the anti-alias support is 10 times better - everything is soooo smooth and pretty

It's been a real pain in the butt as it kept crashing and I couldnt get java to work. But reading up on it now. iawix 11-18-2002, 02:51 PM is there a way to force every font to be anti-aliased? it looks beautiful when the fonts are AA but when they're now...bleh. gkedrovs 11-18-2002, 05:58 PM I'm running Opera 6.03 under Redhat 8.0 and my fonts are really nice, no AA problems at all. ?? What virgins did you guys upgrade from? I hate fixing something if it works... cuz I usually hose it bad. But... if I can get more eye candy... maybe it's worth it...??? -Greg apeekaboo 11-26-2002, 01:16 PM I've just downgraded from 6.10 to 6.03 since I feel 6.10 is LESS stable... Anyone else hade the same experience? I haven't tried to remove ~/.opera and start all over. Shouldn't have to, plus I've made to much fiddling with the preferences to really feel it's worth the effort. I think I'll pass 'til the next version. JP83 11-26-2002, 01:25 PM I've just downgraded from 6.10 to 6.03 since I feel 6.10 is LESS stable... Anyone else hade the same experience? Yes i'm sure 6.1 is quite/very unstable i'm glad that it can continue browsing after crashing (and it crahes oftenly after login and when i start browsing). apeekaboo 11-26-2002, 02:06 PM Originally posted by JP83 Yes i'm sure 6.1 is quite/very unstable i'm glad that it can continue browsing after crashing (and it crahes oftenly after login and when i start browsing). Same here. If the session survive for the first 5 minutes then there were usually no problem. The feature to resume previous session with all windows saved is truly a blessing! :) iawix 11-26-2002, 02:31 PM It's never crashed for me! JP83 11-26-2002, 02:57 PM If the session survive for the first 5 minutes then there were usually no problem. Ditto nothing more to say. afterthefall 12-05-2002, 07:35 PM The only problem that I've had is that I have to manually set the file, page, status and main bar each time I open it up....real pain in the butt. - Brian :D afterthefall 12-06-2002, 04:36 AM Seems they've released Opera 6.11 with a few bugfixes. Unfortunately they didn't include the goofy bars problem, after a few minutes with the trusty vi, I whipped that rc into shape! - Brian apeekaboo 12-06-2002, 12:37 PM Opera 6.11 seems much more stable than the previous version. That's probably why 6.11 came out so quickly... afterthefall: What's this with the 'goofy bars'? A few things they never seem to decide on is: * Copy/paste and how it works. Do you need to use ^C or does it work with mouse... This is especially noticeable (spelling..?) when you save a file and would like to create a dir out of the filename. * The bookmarks menu. Does it expand per default or du you have to click folders to expand... I don't wanna complain though, since I'm using the free version with ads... :) afterthefall 12-07-2002, 01:16 AM It was a case of that every time I loaded Opera, the only bars that would be on top would be the address bar - no page, status, or file bar - and the settings wouldn't stick if I used Preferences to change them. I had to go into the ~/.opera/opera6.ini file and hand edit them to get them to stick. - Brian :D justlinux.com
