Has anyone used Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum to do this, and if so how did you set you your prop[erties and burning.
I have burned all three mandrake linux CDs on CDs, but for some reason the computer doesn't stop booting into windows with the CDs in the drive.
Please help

1) First, download the mandrake.iso file: check the the Mandrake site
(http://www.linux-mandrake.com/en/ftp.php3) to find where.
2) Then you must use a CD-burner soft. Here I will talk about: WinOnCD and
Easy CD Creator.
2.2) Easy CD Creator
Here it's more simple: Easy associates itself with the ".iso" file
extention. You just have to double-click on the "mandrake.iso" file to run
Easy CD Creator. Just click on "ok" and wait for your CD to be burned.
3) Now you can install your new Linux distribution and enjoy the power of
Linux and KDE.
It appears that Adaptec EZ-CD Creator 3.5a (the version bundled with many
CD-ROM burners) must use a calculation like:
672313344 / 1024 / 1000 = 656 MB > 650 MB --> FAIL
instead of that which you were implying:
672313344 / 1024 / 1024 = 641 MB < 650 MB --> OK
On the chance that the software was calculating the total disk capacity
incorrectly, I found an upgrade to 3.5c on their web site
(www.adaptec.com) and the new version is able to burn this CD...
So the solution is to upgrade the version of Adaptec EZ-CD Creator 3.5a to
a more recent one.

Do you have your computer BIOS boot sequence set to boot the CD first?
If you burned the CD's correctly you should have several directories and not just one iso file.
To burn CD with Easy CD Creator select:
file | create CD from ISO image
select file type iso
browse to select iso image
burn CD

FWIW: I had the same problem but it was using wrong size media (650 MB not 700 MB CR-RW discs) and 2). not resetting the BIOS boot sequence properly. You will have to drop the floppy to #2 or #3 position and move CD (whatever its letter) to the #1 boot up position.

do what michaelk said.
file | create CD from ISO image
select file type iso
browse to select iso image
burn CD
Ignore any "wizards" that come up. Just close them down and do exactly like above. There should be no problems at all.
if your using Nero, its exactly the same, only you select "burn image" rather than "create cd from iso image"
also, with Nero you can "Overburn".
Go to File | preferences
select the "Expert Features" tab
check the box that says "enable overburn..." and hit apply
Now, every time you burn a cd that is slightly more than the cd's capacity, you will be prompted with a box that says something like "Do you want to finalize the cd after burning?". Hit yes when this happens to overburn.
There are risks involved if you do this though. Read the warnings before you try it, because, it may cause problems to with the data on the disk (although, I've never experienced this).
If your having problems with isos being too large, I'd say just go out and buy some 700mb cd's (rather than 650mb ones) and be done with it. There's almost no difference in price. FujiFilm cds are good. I've been buying them almost exclusively for a year and a half, and I've never had problems with them.

I have burnt a lot of ISO's on Nero without any problems.
-When the program starts the Wizard should pop up where you chose the type of disc you want to burn: make sure you select OTHER not DATA (I did data once and got a big ISO file on the disc).
-Then you should have more options (Video disc is one of them I think) choose Burn an Image file.
-You will then get the familiar window where you can drag the ISO file in the Left side window and then select Write Disc from the FIle menu....
-Go get a sandwich, when you get back your CD should be ready.

heres a tip with mandrake iso's DO NOT open a easycd project to burn them just locate the file and double click on it and click on record it will do the rest
and yes you do need 700mb disks the install disks are about 654 or just a lil higher

For double clicking on the ISO file, you need to have the ISO type associated with the image burner. I have Easy CD Creator, so if I look in (Win-NT) Windows Explorer->Tools->Options, File Types, scroll down to find Easy CD Creator Image File, it should at least list ISO.
This is something the install of Easy CD Creator should do, but you can probably add this yourself if it has not beed created.
