I was attempting to access one of the ftp site to download linux. I tried a couple of different ftp client tools, and found one that let me enter information about my proxy. I keep getting errors:
Unable to connect to remote host
and
Name not resolved.

I tried a wide variety of user names in the anonymous with different passwords, including my e-mail address; and blank user names.

I used the FTPs listed on the Mandrake site, and I even tried the ones at RedHat, but all gave the same response. (The RedHat site said to use username=anonymous, password=<emailaddress>; but this did not work.
Any help would be appreciated.

Ken

Would it not be easier to just use a browser (http) to access the ftp server and download the iso?

I always do...

Thanks.
I played around with Netscape, then tried IE, it automatically downloads correctly in IE, but netscape thinks it is text and loads it in a browser so I thought I'd have to use an ftp client.

Got it, and burning CDs!
