Can't boot from windows 98, LILO comes up after...

that, the LILO after DMA verification comes up, instead of Win98. I can get to Dos, by using Win98 bootup dos disk, but cannot get Win98 to come. How do I get Win 98 to come up. Apparently Linux is booting in hda2, on the second partition.

When LILO comes up, press tab to see your options. Then, type the one that you want to boot into.

tab at the lilo prompt gives a list of os lilo is mapped to boot (... its named 'dos' in rh6/6.x/7) ... so, hit tab and see if you can use lilo to boot dos , if yes type 'dos' at the lilo prompt and enter takes you to dos. - you can change the default boot os and the timeout ( if you 're too slow ... like my mama) by editing /etc/lilo.conf [...that's another story]

... that win9x bootdisk wont' get you any where ... as it is never meant to start the windows gui... but it is usefull if you are in a more weird situation like a hd crash or a format.

if you want to erase lilo from the boot sector use at the c: prompt
