I light of the thread:
too many first-timer threads with 0 replys (http://www.linuxnewbie.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=57478)

and the comment made in there.
I think part of the problem is that everyone is posting in General Linux Questions without realizing that it may be better to post their question in another forum

I think from my stand point the only real reason that you find people posting stuff in General Linux Questions that need to be in some other forum is because there seem to be a lot of people spending alot of time in General Linux Questions and in /Dev/Ramdom and if some need a reply they are looking for a forum with the most ppl and the most posts.

I think it might be a good idea to put a static post at the top if General Linux Questions titled
"Please Read Befor You Post"
and Draw more attion to the other forums.

Just an idea

OR how about a permanent thread title drawing attention to the NHF files!! Where people could discuss the instructions of the NHF they are following and what they have/have not done and what has/has not worked for their situation. New solutions may need to be worked out because .....bigger/faster/better hardware/software/games/OS's are always getting updated. just a thought.

how about a permanent thread title drawing attention to the NHF files!!

That is damn good idea. Or it could be a whole section entitled something like "Almost there - take the final steps in that NHF." People could also suggest modifications to existing NHFs, I think that would have the side benefit of revision of existing NHFs, making them more robust and all the more potent.

I'm already working on the 'Please read before posting' sticky thread for each forum.

I'll try to have it done sometime on the weekend.
