Running SuSE 8.0, kernel 2.4.18:

Logging in as a standard user, I receive no errors in the console log. However, logging in as 'root', I receive 4 consecutive 'modprobe' errors related to sound-slot 1 and sound. I DO have sound logging in as a standard user, but root doesn't.

I didn't find anything about this in my searching, so hope this isn't redundant.

Thanks in advance ...

... I DO have sound logging in as root, also. But, only have the modprobe messages logging as root.

modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-slot-1
modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-server-1-0
modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-slot-1
modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module sound-server-1-0

The above is displayed just as is, 'cept with time stamps and my domain printed just in front of each line.

Weird?
