i've been noticing an unusual number of zombie processes lately.
anyone else seen this?
i'm running kernel 2.4.9 on debian testing/unstable. i kinda wonder if this has something to do with blackbox...but i'm not sure about that.

this is probably related somehow...when i am done with an eterm i type exit instead of X'ing it sometimes. lately it doesn't quit. the prompt goes away but the window sits there.
what's the best way to kill these suckers, i.e. how do i track down the parent i have to kill to get rid of 'em?
EDIT:
ok, i tracked down the parent (ppid) using "ps xl" and it is indeed blackbox...anyone know why it might do this? i start blackbox from .xsession. its the final entry there and it just says "exec /usr/local/bin/blackbox".

i can't believe how many problems people have in here....
ok guys. i've done the research, and hate having to ask for help in the first place. last chance. anyone know why blackbox might start doing this?

i can't believe how many problems people have in here....Well it is a message board for new people to come with their problems, it's also the highest volume Linux message board that I'm aware of.
There was another thread (here I think) on whether or not blackbox was even being developed still, doesn't sound like it is so it doesn't surprise me if you're having problems with it.
