I am running a mandrake 8 box as a server, and I frequently leave it at the login on KDM. The problem is that I don't want the monitor to go off at all. I can't find any configuration file to change the settings. Where is a file that will do that, or what command do I have to run, and when/where do I run it? Thanks.

I don't know how to configure the apm stuff. If you are looking for a quick fix, complile a new kernel without apm support. I say quick fix assuming that you have compiled a kernel before.....otherwise it might not be such a quick fix, but good experience anyway.

I'm not too familiar as to compiling a kernel. I'd have to have step by step instructions for that.

There's a NHF with detailed kernel compiling instructions.
