I have mounted a computer and I want to know how to install LINUX. The hard drive is completly empty. How can I install LINUX on the computer? Do I need to follow the same procedure as if installing Windows?
I know that this question sounds a little "newbie" but as you will notice I'm new with computers.

do you have a CDROM with a linux distribution on it? do you know if your pc is new enough to boot off the cdrom?
or
does your pc have a network card? what type of internet access do you have?

It sounds like your computer is rather new so just put your cdrom into the drive as soon as it starts booting. May I ask why, if you're new to computers, you're trying out Linux first? What distribution are you trying? Do you have people that can help you (that you can talk to in person)?

Apples/Macintoshes can rot. BSD... sounds too much like LSD.

Linux, the only one with the Penguin.
