I downloaded a picture and am wondering how it is that I make it my background image. :confused:

Ok, then here's what you do....
Right Click on the desktop and pick Configure Background (It should be in the middle of the menu)
Towards the middle of the box that opens, there should be a tab labeled Wallpaper...click that
You probably want to pick the Single Wallpaper option.
To select your new background image, hit the browse button to locate a new one...or pick one from the drop down list.
