Installing Mandrake Linux 8.1

I just bought Mandrake 8.1 and I want to install it. Everything goes fine until after I hit enter to install it. I goes throught htis scrren with ab bunch of my computer info and then gets to IRQ 15 and stops. I have left it going for four (4) hours and it didn't do a thing.

I really need help!

What are your system specifications?
Motherboard, processor, cards, etc?
What specifically happens and at what point?
Do you have more than one physical Hard Disk Drive?
Mandrake and irq 15 have been known to be problems with hda1 and multiple HDDs.

When it starts to install it goes throught the system stuff and stops when it gets to IRQ 15. the IRQ before it takes alot longer than the rest before it, if that helps. I am going to go try the install again to get more specific info.

Well...Its old... I only have one HD (A very small one) and I don't know much about it. Is there a way I can tell? It currently runs Win2K and is very slow. I was interested in switching, because poeple told me I would get alot better proformance out of it with Linux.

What devices do you have on the secondary ide channel?

Anything disabled in your system bios such as the secondary ide channel?
