First off, my modem worked in Mandrake 8.2, and it's posed to be a hardware modem.
It's a US Robotics V90 HW PCI 2977 modem.
However, I can't seem to get the modem to work in Mandrake 9. I had downloaded the Disc 1 and Disc 3 CD Images (so far). I just can't get the Netmoniter to dial in. I can't even hear the Modem Handshake sound. It doesn't appear in the Hardware list.
Anyone know what could be causing the problem?

Are you using KPPP? If so, click the Modem tab and locate your modem, by clicking quey modem, until you've got the right port. Maybe that will sort it out.

That is not the problem. The problem is that I can't get the modem installed. I have a file that gives instructions on how to install the modem myself, but I am missing the command setserial so I can not achieve this. Anyone know how to get the command setserial?

But I don't have setserial so I can't do anything with it. How can I get setserial? Is it on the second disc? If so what file?

Nevermind, I got it. It was on Disc 3. Thanks for the link.

Thanks anyway, but I already installed it off my 3rd disc (I guess I should look for it eh?).
