I tried to use KInternet and it complained saying that I needed to use YaST2 to setup the internet and YAST2 died while trying to install... Is there a manual way to set all of this up? I have the modum configured properly (I hope).

You can configure the internet connection in Yast1. Look for network and PPP on the Yast menus. Once you do that, you can use either wvdial or KInternet (which requires you change the UNKNOWN in rc.dialout to MODEM).
