I am running Debian woody, and I used XF86Setup to create my x 3.3.6 config file which is /etc/X11/XF86Config, but then I upgraded to woody and used xf86config to create the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file but my x doesnt use it. If I rename it to XF86Config when gnome tries to start it gives an error. A -version of /usr/bin/X11/XFree86 gives 4.0.2 but a -version of /usr/bin/X11/X gives 3.3.6, and I think gnome is using this file when it runs. How can I make X 4.0.2 or make my current X use my XFree86-4 file?
Thanks
