Can someone give me a step by step process for patching my kernel. I have tried time and again to do a total kernel remake with failure each time. I guess the thing to try now is patching. I tried it a few months ago, but it didnt work then. There isnt an NHF that I could find, so I figured maybe some groovy experienced person could give me the how-to. oh...by the way, do you get to configure everything like with a full kernel install, or does it kepp your settings? And also, will it screw up my dependencies like the full kernel does? Thats why Im trying to do the patch. And also (will I ever stop?), do I need to get the latest modutils and such? Thanks in advance.

From my experience, patching is harder that building a whole new kernel. But if you want to try, check this link: http://www.kerneli.org/

They explain how to patch in the 4th step, so you could try that.
