Mandrake 9.0

I Installed SuSE a couple of days ago,but it wasn't what I expected. So now I want to install Mandrake 9.0
But I have on question.
If I install Mandrake does it automatically remove SuSE from my system?
Or what should I do to remove SuSE?

If you are installing Mandrake on the same partition that you have Suse installed on then just delete the partition and everything is gone and Mandrake will write its own boot loader.

If you are going to install Mandrake somewere else then you will have to uninstall it.

Thnx for the tip.
I just want to delete SuSE from my comp.
And install Mandrake.
How can I del or remove or uninstall SuSE??
Without losing any Data I also run XP.
I'm a lame so pls tell me how to do it.

When you go into the install for Mandrake it will ask you where you want to install it. Sleect the partition that has Suse and delete the Partition. EVERYTHING on that partition will be deleted but it will not affect your other partitions.

Delete all the Suse partition then tell it to Install Mandrake in that space

Hi,

I am totally new to Linux but running Microsoft 2000 was finally getting to me.

So I first got Red Hat 8.0 put it in the cd rom and turned on the computer. Gave me the graphical or text. I took graphical, read my stuff and then hung on the line partition check hda, after many rebooting I gave up.

Now I was told that Mandrake is simpler.

So all I want to do is do a clean install. I would prefer to put XP on my d drive, and Mandrake on my c drive. That is what I was told. Also I am looking at other distros like Lycoris and Xandros, how do they compare. Could anyone give me a step by step installation for mandrake installation in layman's terminology. I also plan to get the O'Reilly books Running Linux, am quite determined to move away from Microsoft.
