I've installed LimeWire 3 times and everytime I installed and downloaded some musics, my computer started acting strange and eventually I was forced to reinstall Mandrake9.0. Sympton was same. First I noticed netscape starts freezing alot. Then XMMS starts freezing. Eventually everything start freezing. I dunno why. As far as i know, I didn't get any error messages. Now I'm too scared of installing it.... :(

Did you follow the Limewire installation instructions exactly?

Could you please post what you did to install Limewire?

I've never installed or used Limewire myself, but perhaps another member can help.

yes i did follow instruction and LimeWire itself worked fine. I installed java, which is required and LimeWire. That's all. After couple of musics typical symptoms start like browser netscape and xmms that had worked just fine started freezing every minutes or so. I reinstalled Mandrake again and everything working fine now. But i'm curious why it happens everytime.

Anyone else have Limewire working with Mandrake 9.0?

Perhaps it is a known problem with Mandrake 9.0 and Limewire.

Does Limewire have a usergroup or support site where others may have already posted about this?

Sounds like a memory leak in limewire.
Any chance of running top and checking process stats?

Now I'm using Gtk-Gnutella. It seems give me more available files than LimeWire, and it is working great so far. :)
I still dunno why it happened but... oh well i have something better workin for me. Thanks for all your helps. I appreciate it. :p

I could never get limewire running in Mandrake in the first place. I installed java, but always got errors installing, so I gave up and started using GTK-gnutella too. Sounds like I'm better off anyways.
