I have my laptops soundcard setup on this kernel as a module, everything is fine and dandy that is. Until i leave my machine alone and it goes into suspend mode.when i resume it later on the sound modules are still there, but i cant play anything i get cant open audio /dev/dsp does not exist when it was just working 10 min prior to suspend. so my question is, "Is this a suspend/resume bug in the kernel or a driver bug or MY FAULT"

o btw

IBM Thinkpad T20
Crystal Soundfusion - modules needed ac97_codec.o and cs46xx.o

Just wondering
thanks

Well it's probably 2.4, either configuration or the code. Try killing the apmd or you could try using apm as a module (is module an option???) and then just remove it and put it back, the same goes for the sound card.

Well atleast i know it isnt my fault.
It isnt a big deal really, i just reboot and sound works again. no it wont work by removing the module and inserting it again. a full reboot is necessary. after so many years and versions of winhoze reboots dont bother me anymore.
