I need to give several computers access to my cable modem. I've been looking around and that wireless Linksys 4 port router/switch looks pretty good. Anybody have any experience with these? Are there better alternatives? Anything cheaper out there?

In the past, I've seen some links posted on wireless and Linux. Can't remember them, but they have been posted here.
Ahhh. I think sourceforge.net has a projects going on wireless. As long as the wireless ethernet card works, then everything else should.
Still a little pricey for me. I'll stick to tripping over my home network cables until the prices come down. Actually got them going through walls and along baseboards.

not really an issue for internet access, but remember that max bandwidth of wireless protocol in ideal conditions is shared 11Mbps -- compare this with current 100Mbps over cat5 cable, and the (hopefully) soon to be announced 1Gbps over cat5 -- life in wires yet, certainly for shifting my video files between boxes!
