I'm kinda new to open source and need a little help. I have recently setup 2 Canon PostScript printers using the default PostScript filter in mandrake 7.0. I understand how the /etc/printcap file works, and how to setup printers in general. They are setup as lpd remote printers. Whenever attemtping to set them up over IPX or SMB, I can never actually send them a job. The printers themselves are ready to go, what am I missing?

Also, how can I share a printer to a NT workstation using samba. The NT box sees the Linux box just fine, can share files, etc, but I can't get it to see the printers in the /etc/printcap. The jobs from the NT server are placed into a /var/spool/samba directory and never printed.

Thanks for any help.

Did you enable the printer share in the SMB.conf file?

Yes I have. The NT server in question also has the correct drivers, all the TCP/IP services setup, etc.
