I am looking for a startup script for debian that I can put in commands to start things like portsentry, sshd, etc. I am running stormlinux and I know that it is similar. Is there something comperable to rc.local in this, because I'm not sure how to handle the different run level commands. There has to be something. Thanks

As this is basically the same for all linux distros this article (http://www.freeos.com/articles/3243/) might help.
In short there are rcX.d dirs for all the runlevels where the services to start and stop are being linked.

Go to Debian home page and check out the Debian FAQ. It has a section dedicated to this issue.

Good Luck,
