Redhat 7.0

When I try to install/configure X there's an error. It can't "probe my card" (probably my graphics-card) I've tried many different options incl. standard vga etc. It's also displaying another error while booting: Fatal error / No screens found

Using:
Hercules 3dProphet GeForce2Mx
Hansol 710D 17" Monitor
Abit KT-7Raid

Try the "nv" driver.

Better yet, grab nVidia's drivers. There are many HOWTOs available. Here's just one: http://www.evil3d.net/articles/linux/howto/nvidia/redhat7/

I've tried the Nv-driver. It's actually finding this driver by default (Geforce DDR), but it doesn't work anyway. Also tried the other GF-cards. No luck. I recently saw on another mess.board that GF2Mx isn't supported until RH7.1 ??? I find that hard to believe, but I'm not convinced

Oh maybe it isn't in the version of XFree86 that Red Hat 7.0 has.

Best to go with the nVidia modules. They give much better performance anyway...
