Hello, I'm trying to install mandrake Linux 9.0 on a 486.

Now when he gets to to the part of the harddrive detection he blocks. It's a hard disk of 512 Mb and when I use the key-combination ALT+F3 then I see "Starting step "setupSCSI"" and nothing more happens.... :-(

What can I do?????

If you need more info on my PC : 486DX40, 20Mb RAM, 512Mb HD, also have an extra 412Mb HD but disconnected it to see if it would be a problem with the HD, Motherboard is with a VESA Local bus.

Mandareake requires a minimum of a Pentium processor.
I doubt your 486 will work with it. Even if it does you do not have enough
RAM to use the GUI's.

Check the minimumurequirements for any distro you
want to use.

Mandrake 9.0 would have roughly the same minimum requirements as W2K.
