just woundered what networking books could any one suggest to a complete networking newbie, i've been able to set up my suse box to join a network but want to understand more behind how its doin it. if any one could suggest books that have to do generally with networkin or books that deal with one subject that would be great

There is a whole series of books out called "The Complete Reference." Kind of like "xxxxx for dummies." ie. There is a "Networking, the complete reference." "Linux, the complete reference" etc. They are pretty good introductions to whatever subject it is you are investigating. I use my Linux one quite a bit. Also "Networking, a Client/Server Approach" is pretty good, as well as "TCP/IP Administration." Naturally I can't remember who any of the authors or publishers are, but I bet you can find them. They are at work or I'd go look them up now.
