Modules in 2.4?

I've just compiled kernel 2.4 and when I try to load the module for my sound card modprobe *****es about not being able to find the module. I've tried typing 'depmod -a' but modprobe still won't find it, is there a new command that I have to use? Thanks.

Either you never made the module, or your modutils need updating (you need modutils 2.4.0)
