This weeking I will be installing slackware in an old system of mine. I have been browsing the slackware site and i see this stuff about an installation ISO image. If I d/l this image is it the only thing I'll have to d/l or do I need to d/l the boot disk files and root disk files. And if the ISO image is all I need will I still need to make boot and root disks. Im just overall confused and any help that can be given is greatly appreciated.

You will need a cd burner to use the ISO file and it will be bootable. Then you can boot the cd from the cd drive, as long as you have it set in BIOS to boot cd drive.

If you can't boot from the cd drive, then yes, you will need the root and boot disk to install Slackware.
