Ok. Here's the scene, for those just joining us http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/wink.gif I have several computers at home that I would like to put Debian potato 2.2r2 on, plus the potato 'extras' cd. I have no burner and crappy access at home, i.e. downloading a CD's worth of data could take up to a week. At work I have access to a burner (and permission), faster access to the 'net (T1, I think, or better). Problem #1: All computers at work run Win9x. Not a big problem, as I can get the pseudo-image kit for Win9x. Problem #2: The connection point btwn the corporate statewide wan/lan and the internet apparently has a pretty tight firewall, and the odds of me convincing them to loosen it so I can download Debian cd's are somewhere btwn slim and getting fired.

I'd prefer to make the 1st cd the non-US flavor. But when I run the command like so: 'make-pseudo-image binary-i386-1_NONUS.list ftp://ftp.ca.debian.org/debian-non-US/' it churns for a while getting files for the list, and then starts trying to retrieve them, which fails on each and every file. Every single one. I tried the ftp.fsn.hu site, as I've been able to download iso's from there in the past, but that locked the laptop up hard. As I recall, I used to be able to use ftp.nuri.net (Korean site), since they use a non-standard port for rsync, and for some reason I can connect to them via ftp as well.

So if push comes to shove, I can make a regular US export approved binary-i386-1.iso, but I'm out the non-US image and the extras, as I don't believe that site carries them.

Any suggestions/ideas? Anyone know where someone could d/l regular iso images (I know, I know) of the 2.2r2 cd's plus the extras cd?

TIA,

Monte

Alrighty. I think I am on my way w/ the pseudo-image kit. It seems to be working ok so far from a site in Canada, but failing that I will try the Hungarian site again. Can someone point me to the info I need for the potato 'extras' cd? I found a server w/ it on it (ftp.fsn.hu), but it is just a '.raw' image. Is there a '.list' file to do rsync with, or what is the deal?

TIA,

Monte
