Does this come with many distros (Red Hat 7.1 specifcally) or is just a simple download. What is better this or Borland C++ or a Visual Program. Does Borland make Visual. Also whats the diff between them and GCC thanks

gcc comes with your distro. Look on the second cd for RH7.1, it's in the developmet/languages menu. There's also gcc add ons for c++, java etc on that cd.

By the way, if you installed RH7.1 with the development option then it would have automatically installed gcc for you.

As far as your other questions...sh1t I don't have a clue.

Microsoft makes the Visual line of programming tools. Of course, there isn't a native Linux distribution of those. ;) They're basically just an interface tacked on a compiler anyway.

I don't know about comparisons between Borland and gcc, but I should think that gcc would meet all of your C/C++ needs.
