Lucky me...I get all these wonderful errors clogging up my messages file:
Aug 9 06:54:25 innerstep inetd[12393]: pop-3/tcp: bind: Address already in use
Aug 9 06:54:25 innerstep inetd[12393]: ftp/tcp: bind: Address already in use
Aug 9 06:56:01 innerstep inetd[7691]: pop-3/tcp: bind: Address already in use
Aug 9 06:58:02 innerstep inetd[7756]: pop-3/tcp: bind: Address already in use
Aug 9 06:59:40 innerstep inetd[12446]: pop-3/tcp: bind: Address already in use
I have reinstalled bind, but I think that my inetd may have been compromised. Would re-rpming inetd fix this -- maybe? I would have to reconfigure:
/etc/inetd.com -- no problem
/etc/rc.d/rc.local -- no problem
tcp_wrappers -- no problem
an other items I would have to re-configure? Or am I off the mark and take a different tact.
Thanks
