Wine Install Errors

I am installing Wine on Mandrake 8.2. When I run Wineinstall it builds/compiles everything fine until I get this error message:

Compilation failed, aborting install.

Any help on this matter appreciated!

Good for you installing from tgz. If you are fairly new I would suggest using the wine rpm. Apparently the make file is not seeing some library files needed. You can go back and check the site to make sure you have all the necessary dependencies on you system. But doesn't Mandrake come with wine as an option to be installed? Check your installation cd's.
