WHY?

RH7.3, clean install for workstation and whenever I try to play a DVD it gives me :

- xine engine error -
There is no available input plugin available to
handle 'xine-ui version 0.9.8'.

WTF is that?

DVD's work fine on XP so its not the hardware. In laymans terms. how do I solve this problem?

you can get it here.
http://www.videolan.org/libdvdcss/download.html

just so you know (fro mXine's site:
How do I use the dvd plugin?

First of all:

The dvd plugin delivered with xine does not support playback of locked
and/or encrypted dvds. You will need external programs or something
like an "enhanced" xine_dvd_plugin to view these DVDs with xine
directly. Of course (technically speaking) you can easily play back the
decrypted mpeg2 stream (which is the movie on the dvd) with xine, if
the data on the dvd is decoded with the help of additional programs.

99.9% of DVDs are encrypted so basically for Xine to be useful you have to install css. LOL. It's kind of dumb.

i prefer ogle. Xine doesn't resize the video window properly - they blame this on nvidia however ogle does resize it properly :) so i think it is more likely how Xine's code handles resizing the video.

in Xine it is possible for me to resize the window so that the video is squished or stretched vertically or horizontally.

in ogle no matter how i resize the window the correct aspect ratio is maintained.

mplayer plays dvds as well but it has the same resizing "problem" as Xine.
