OK guys, I'm the newest of the new to this. I haven't even attempted my first install yet so have patience please :-)

I want to give linux a test drive on my old laptop, but I hear installing it on a laptop is a real pain. Which distro will give me the fewest problems?

I've got a dell xpi 133 with 32mb ram,2 gig hard drive and cdrom.

Any pointers woulb appreciated
Thanx

I haven't installed Linux on a laptop before, however, when I was going to, the only issue I was worried about was that my laptop doesn't have a cdrom. If yours does however, then great!

If I were you I would just try it. That's ultimatly where you have to start I think. Just install and then go nuts (this helps heaps if you have ALL your data backed up so if you do happen to totally screw it up, you haven't lost anything)!

Good Luck anyway (sorry I couldn't realy assist you much)

I worked with a guy who tried installing different distros on his Dell laptop.
He had better luck with SuSe.
