I'm thinking of purchasing some of the following books:

Practical KDE
by Author Dennis E. Powell

Perl 5 by Example : The Easiest Way to Learn How to Program!
By Medinets, David

Learning Perl, Second Edition
By Schwartz, Randal L. / Christiansen, Tom

Beginning Linux Programming By Mathew, Neil / Stones, Richard

Does anyone here have any of these? What is your opinion? Are they easy to read? I have Running Linux and find that very helpful. Are any of the above comparable?

Thanks! http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

well, nobody has an opinion, so I guess I will start with the bash shell since it's an O'Reilly. http://www.linuxnewbie.org/ubb/smile.gif

I would say start with Learning Perl - you probably don't need the other Perl book (which doesn't sound that good).

O'Reilly books in general are good, as you noted.

There's O'Reilly, then there's everyone else.

Thanks I wasn't sure which one of the Perl books to go with.
