Had a friend download eDesktop 2.4 for me to a CD. Have an ISO file now. What do I do with it?
Caldera help files suggested I burn another CD from it using "Creat a CD" to get a instalation CD but all I got was a copy of the ISO file.
I don't have easy access to a CD burner, is there another way?

Is there a reason why your friend didn't burn the iso to the cd as a cdimage in the first place?
I'm not sure if you can copy it to a hard drive and install it from there.
Maybe someone else knows.

It is possible to mount an iso image as a loopback file mount. From there it should run the same as a cd but would not be possible to boot from it. If you just need to get a couple of packages it wouldn't be terribly difficult to do (on an existing linux system). Trying to do an install that way would be "trying" project for an experienced user.

Its tricky, but you can install from the ISO. You need to mount it as a loop filesys, and then do a install from a already mounted drive/directory.

I'm not familiar enough with that distro to tell you exactly what to do tho...

Have your friend burn it again, but instead of just putting the iso on a cd, do a "Create CD From Image" and then select the iso file.

if you have ~700M of free space on your win drive, goto winimage (http://www.winimage.com)
and get the 30 day trial.it will extract the iso which you can save to your hd and then create a hd.img disk to install from your windows drive.Works great.

Thanks for the help. I think I'll just have my friend burn the ISO as a CD image.
