I just ordered a viewsonic VX2000 20.1" FP monitor. :D Will linux be able to take full advantage of this thing? I can't see why not as it's just a monitor right?

Does your video card have DVI output? If so then it should just recognize it at boot.

Not the GF4 I have currently. I'll need to replace it soon. Until I do, I'll just use the VGA out. But it has a lot of bells and whistles that I'm afraid linux may not know what to do with.

I've been asking this questions several times, but never got a reply. I have a Dell 17in FP monitor with DVI, and a video card with both VGA and DVI. I cannot, for the life of me, get it to work. Right now I have both cables running and have to switch the input selector on the monitor to digital when I boot to WinXP. In WinXP on the monitor selection there are too lisiting for my moniotr (1. 1702FP (Analog) and 2. 1702 (Digital)) and it works just fine whichever I select. But in Linux, it has the exact same thing in XConfig, but it will not send a signal out through DVI. So I don;t know, but I would imagine its got to be possible. So let me know if you find out anything. Thanks.
