Well, I am a Linux Newbie and I bought a copy of Corel Linux and I had problems with it my display settings were displaying in 256 and it was a 8MB S3 Virge, but im thinking about upgrading my video card and use Mandrake 8.0 so I will like to see if my new video card will be fine and display correctly XPERT 98 Video Card, PCI, 8MB or I was thinking of gettings this card also XPert@Play 98 Video Card, PCI, 8MB so can someone please tell me if those cards will work fine in Mandrake 8.0 and my computer is a Pentium 120 Mhz, 6 gigz, 32 MB

You might have trouble running newer distro's on older hardware (sloooooowwww...), but I do believe Mandrake is the best distro for linux n00bs who don't know much. it has a really slick install, it detects everything for you :)

Not only that, but if your like me and want to be more in control of your nix box, don't go with mandrake period. It has a nice front end and gui but whenit comes done to it it is too bloated and no hard core control as far as I am concerned. I am sorry to say that I regret paying the money for it at the store. I will just have to donate or sell it to a new convert.
